Arrow Video 31 mins · Happy #Fridaythe13th! To celebrate we’re revealing a sweet October treat... **Surprise announcement!** NEW UK TITLE: Candyman (Blu-ray) Newly restored in 2K, Candyman ingeniously reworks Clive Barker’s original short story “The Forbidden” into a modern horror parable Pre-order your copy via Arrow: https://bit.ly/2LfJyrZ Release date: 29 October Dare you say his name five times? From the chilling imagination of horror master Clive Barker (Hellraiser, Nightbreed), comes Candyman – arguably one of the greatest horror movies of the 1990s, now newly restored on Blu-ray. When grad student Helen Lyle (Virginia Madsen) begins working on a thesis looking at urban legends, she encounters the tale of the Candyman – the vengeful spirit of a hook-handed slave, who, it is said, can be summoned by saying his name five times in the mirror. As her research leads her into the bowels of Chicago’s deprived housing projects and deeper into the Candyman’s world, Helen learns that some legends are best left alone… Expertly directed by British filmmaker Bernard Rose and boasting an astounding score by composer Philip Glass, Candyman ingeniously reworks Clive Barker’s original short story “The Forbidden” (originally published as part of his Books of Blood collection) into a modern horror parable that remains as timely today as ever. ^ No höpö-höpö. Saksassa (kuinkas muuten) julkaistiin taannoin päivitetyllä koodekilla marginaalisesti "paremmin" tuotettu yksilö, jonka näennäiseksi eduksi voitanee laskea kuvasuhde, kun kyseessä on open-matte. Kuvavertailu, jota kukin tulkinnee tavallaan.
Noh, voi olla kyllä että sekoitin tämän johonkin toiseen, mutta hyvä että kelpaa. Itse pistin tilaukseen tämän uuden LE:n
Leffan päivitys tulee mielestäni ihan hyvään saumaan, ja onhan tuota fanikunta vaatinut jo pitkään, vaikkei sillä etteikö aiempi julkaisukin monille ajaisi asiaansa yhä. Arrow harvoin pettää, joten ainakin kuvanpakkaukselta lienee lupa odottaa huomattavaa parannusta suhteessa aiempaan, vaikka päätös tuottaa 2K masteri 4K skannista ensi alkuun hieman hämmensikin. Se, mitä moni nyt odottaa, on vielä virallista varmistusta vailla oleva tieto julkaisun statuksesta sen leikkaamattomuudesta, vaikka toisen polven tieto kertookin, että ohjaaja olisi henkilökohtaisesti maininnut R-rated teatteriversion olevan nimen omaa nk. ohjaajan versio. Edit. Hyvä muistaa myös sekin, että vaikka unrated-status varmistuisikin, täytyy varmennus saada lisäksi unrated-materiaalin resoluutiolle, joka hyvinkin saattaa jäädä SD-tasoiseksi, kuten vastaavissa tapauksissa on tätä nykyä niin surullisen usein totuttu todistamaan.
No, ainakin noista Brucen leffoista on tulossa UHD-julkaisu. Jackie boksikin voi olla vain julkistusta vaille, joten en kyllä lähtisi enää bluraytä ostelemaan.
Universalin Candyman-julkaisu on varsin huono kuvanlaadultaan.
"Frank Zito (a career performance by co-writer/co-executive producer Joe Spinell of ROCKY and THE GODFATHER fame) is a deeply disturbed man, haunted by the traumas of unspeakable childhood abuse. And when these horrific memories begin to scream inside his mind, Frank prowls the seedy streets of New York City to stalk and slaughter innocent young women. Now Frank has begun a relationship with a beautiful photographer (Caroline Munro of THE SPY WHO LOVED ME), yet his vile compulsions remain. These are the atrocities of a human monster. This is the story of a MANIAC." "Directed by William Lustig (MANIAC COP 2, VIGILANTE) and featuring landmark gore effects by Tom Savini (DAWN OF THE DEAD, FRIDAY THE 13th), this relentlessly shocking and disturbing film was originally censored all over the world due to its graphic violence. Now Blue Underground is thrilled to present MANIAC in a brand-new 4K Restoration from its recently discovered 16mm original camera negative, overflowing with hours of new and archival Extras!" Bonus Materials: • Audio Commentary #1 with Co-Producer/Director William Lustig and Co-Producer Andrew W. Garroni • Audio Commentary #2 with Co-Producer/Director William Lustig, Special Make-Up Effects Artist Tom Savini, Editor Lorenzo Marinelli, and Joe Spinell’s Assistant Luke Walter • NEW – Returning to the Scene of the Crime with William Lustig • NEW – MANIAC Outtakes Featurette • Anna and the Killer – Interview with Star Caroline Munro • The Death Dealer – Interview with Special Make-Up Effects Artist Tom Savini • Dark Notes – Interview with Composer Jay Chattaway • Maniac Men – Interview with Songwriters Michael Sembello and Dennis Matkosky • Theatrical Trailers, TV Spots, Radio Spots • Mr. Robbie: Maniac 2 Promo Reel • The Joe Spinell Story • MANIAC Publicity • MANIAC Controversy • BONUS CD – MANIAC Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Jay Chattaway • BONUS Collectable Booklet with new essay by author Michael Gingold"
